About

Sign Bar is a completely immersive bar experience located in east Austin. What started as a passion project of collecting deserted yet legendary bar and restaurant signs evolved into a desire to preserve the history of an Austin forgotten. In collaboration with local artists, sign makers, interior designers and fabricators, we created a concept not only unique to Austin and Texas but the country as a whole which memorializes our beautifully weird city's foundational roots.

ERIN

Hi everyone! My name’s Erin. I’m originally from Houston & have bartended all over Texas including San Antonio, Fort Worth, and now Austin. I moved to the area almost 3 years ago and absolutely love it. I’ve been with the Sign Bar team since the very beginning and have had the opportunity to watch it grow into the bar it is today. I’m also a Pre-Med student in my other life. Most of my time is filled with medical textbooks and deep study sessions to help propel me into one day becoming a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. My adventurous and artistic heart eventually itches to explore the beautiful city through hiking trips or musical events being hosted around town. But being a Cat-Dad to a 1-yr old baby named Nebulae tends to occupy most of my free-time with cuddles, picking up all of his toys, & playing hide-n-seek. Oh, and naps, lots and lots of naps. Come say hello, and keep a Single-Dad company with all of your crazy Austin adventures so I can live vicariously through you! :)

ANNA

Hi! My name is Anna! I’m from coastal North Carolina but moved to Austin on a whim after an impromptu visit! Since I’ve been here, I’ve loved experiencing the incredible bar and restaurant scene, taken advantage of the comedy/music venues, and have had so much fun going on adventures with my furry son Baxter (a Texas born-Boston Terrier)! I love watching college basketball and am a diehard UNC Tarheels fan. I love playing board games, traveling basically anywhere, and going on road trips to explore as much of the US as possible (random roadside attractions are always a plus!). I’ve long collected vintage bar mirrors, neons, and glassware and when you combine that with my love of tiny lights and games, Sign Bar has truly been the perfect fit for me. This is my first year at Sign Bar and my second year in Texas, come say hi and please feel free to show me a picture of your dog.

NATE

I’m originally from Detroit but made my way to Austin a few years ago after spending a decade in Boston. I’m not a native, but I’ve developed a real love for the city. I especially enjoy chatting with locals about their memories of old Austin institutions and learning the stories behind the signs that make up Sign Bar. When I’m not slinging drinks or learning about neon signs, I’m probably lacing up my skates. I’ve been playing hockey my whole life and still hit the ice just for fun. It’s my favorite way to stay active and spend time with friends.
